With so many members now buying Kindles, and others of us with Sony Readers, how's about an e-reading forum? We could discuss hardware, and sources for ebooks ... and stuff like that.

I was thinking the same thing. Where does it go though? Not under Internet access because that only applies to Kindles at present.

Why limit a new forum to just E book chatter, maybe if you expand on the idea it will get Nuke's approval... so how about a Motorhome Pastimes Forum? Then it can include discussion and maybe sub forums about all sorts of "evening", "rainy day" and other "in the van" activities activities/hobbies Wink ( Ok Ok no smutty replies)

We could even discuss paper printed books in one like that.

Good idea Mike although I might want a forum to myself after reading Stieg Larsson's trilogy.
Started with the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and read all three back to back in a week.
Couldn't put them down.

Took a lot of flack from MOH. Sad Sad

PS If anyone else wants to read them, you must read them in order.

Good idea, I'm holding off buying one to see how it all pans out with book prices and also which e-reader to go for, so I'd no doubt find it interesting and informative.

I think an E reader sub forum is an excellent idea.

I recently read the first of the trilogy on my free downloaded Kindle for Mac. I've now downloaded the second and will start it tonight.

I've been wondering for a while whether to get a Sony or Kindle e-reader, or perhaps an iPad. I haven't read a book in ages because my poor eyesight means using a magnifying glass. Arguments against the Sony and Kindle were that if I'd completely lost the book reading habit at least an iPad would be used for other things.

When I saw on the Amazon website that I could download a free version of Kindle for my Mac I thought it would be great to give it a try. I'm really really pleased that, by using a fairly large font size, I could read so well. Next time I'm in Manchester I'll check out the e-readers in Waterstones to see if I want to put one on my wish list.

A warning though about Kindle for Mac. One of the books I attempted to download didn't arrive. After getting in touch with Amazon and making further attempts I was eventually told that this particular book, Collins English - French Dictionary, wasn't supported by Mac. I'm now wondering if I'll have this problem with any others.

Oh, by the way, I think an e-reader forum would be a great idea.
