Welcome from another AS owner - I got a Camos wired system about three years ago, decided to get it fitted as I was a bit worried about drilling holes in the body and patching into the electrics, lots of others on here have fitted their own. My cost was about £350 all in I think. General views seem to be:
a. go for wired
b. spend as much as you can reasonably afford and get quality
c. get flat screen monitor 5 inch minimum 7 inch maximum
d. get it fitted unless you are confident about sealing and electrics, if you are fit it yourself and save at least £100
I'll try to find a link and post again later. By the way, the camera was the best thing I have ever added to my mh.
I would certainly agree with the "Go for wired", if you have a wireless they can be affected by Bluetooth, electrical circuits, other wireless devices near you etc.

Definately go for a wired system. Veba do a good kit with a replacment 7" mirror monitor. The kit also comes with 20 meters cable so ample there. A local dealer was selling the kit at the nec show at £169 or £179.I bought one there and its a good kit. Let me know and i can dig out the number.
i bought the veba kit for £179 from the NEC and it works great big mistake was i fitted it myself and it took two days carefully drilling resealing stripping the dash out etc.
The result was a first class job but a proffesional would have done it in a few hours.
They are based in Birmingham, install as well , let me know and i will get the no
Before you finally invest, try to see a variety of different units working. I have a Veba but to be honest I find the mirrors more valuable as the perspective on the monitor gives a view that is not as trustworthy as I could wish for. If you can cover the cost, consider getting either two cameras or a two in one unit. It will then be possible to switch from the rear safety camera to a long view 'mirror' type picture. I think most monitors are designed for two camera operation.
Night vision is very effective but sound can be another important consideration when someone is guiding you back and you can hear their voice.
Fitting it yourself? Not too sure that I would wish to venture into the electrics below my dash. I did have to replace my camera and that was bad enough; cutting the multi-core cables and re-gluing them after passing the wires through the bodywork.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Although the general opinion seems to be against a wireless system it is still a cheaper alternative especially in a short vehicle.
I fitted a Maplins wireless one to the Solano which is over 7 m long and it worked fine. The camera fixed to the number plate and it was wired into the number plate light.
If I wanted the camera on at any time I just turned on the sidelights.
I've just taken it off as I have put the van back to it's basic state to sell so the kit is for sale at £45.00 to include postage.
All you have to do is:
Fix the camera to the number plate and connect to the lighting circuit.
Get the antenna wire from the camera inside the van through the back wall.
Plug the monitor into the 12v dashboard socket.
