I have the above genny installed and it has stopped producing current when it is running. The strange thing is I get a low fuel light when the generator has plenty of fuel.Anyone had this problem?
Can anyone recommend a fixer in the Yorkshire area?

Steve

If a post has had no replies people just post on it (Bump) just to get it back on the new posts/front pages so hopefully someone who could help will see it as a lot of members only look at the new posts so may never see the original which given the number of posts on here can be 20+ pages down in a relatively short time

Chris,

Thank you, I have seen it a few times and wondered what it was for – and it worked, I am about to post an idea or two for Richyc.

Many thanks

Hi Richyc

I presume the unit runs well? Just does not supply power as the prime reason for the questions?

If so then (I don’t know your unit personally so I have just looked up the specification for it) I am going to suggest you need to consider the following:

The generator does not produce current
Causes and Solutions:
1) Thermal switch has tripped out and needs resetting: Set it to 'on' by resetting the trip switches, there will be one for the 230 Volts supply and one of the 12 Volt supply
2) Condenser damaged I recommend this is checked by qualified personnel.
3) Diode rectifier damaged, in this case, only the 12V D.C. and the green LED on the control board are not working. I recommend this is checked by qualified personnel.
4) Rotor diodes damaged. I recommend this is checked by qualified personnel.
5) Frequency too low. I recommend this is checked by qualified personnel.

You also say you get a low fuel light, which sounds like she is not running at the correct RPM and is fuel starving in which case that could be causing number 5 above, have you had the filters etc changed recently? Come to that has the unit been serviced by someone who is not really A Okay on it and therefore may has upset the tuning of the unit, generators can not be tuned by ear. You need the correct tools to monitor the output at the optimum frequency loading and tune from there.

My recommendation is check for the trips first as one above then check for the LED display as 3 above, it is possible the 12volt trip maybe causing internal artificial reading and therefore giving you duff displays.

If you need a manual to find these items you will find one here for what I believe is your unit: http://www.dometic.com/FileOrganizer/1-international/Operation%20&%20Installation%20Manuals/Generators/T2500-operating_MULTI.pdf

I hope this helps, sorry I can’t be more positive, but as I say I do not know your unit personally and offer suggestions based on the online specification.

These are two closest from the recommend Dometic service station approved list
