Not sure if we're on the same wavelength here, if by skype voicemail you mean skype VOIP then yes I have been using it for some time ( it's got to be at least a year) when not away on trips, it's in use every day to speak to members of the family

Hi
Use Skype to talk to my Friend in Japan all the time, we both use broadband ,so its free, but you can also open a skype account and you lodge money to this using paypal. using this account you can dial any phone or net work for as low as 2 cent a minute. NOW THAT IS VALUE
I note you are a fellow Wicklow Resident, We share the same county.

I thought Skype and other voice chat services, Yahoo, AOL, IChat etc etc were only free between computers .. not between a phone and a computer.. am I misinformed ?

Jim

Skype will enable you to talk to any other person over the internet pc to pc providing you both agree, you may also dial up a land line number over the internet at a much reduced fee, also with a suitable piece of hardware ( about Ģ25.00) can connect to your land line so you may ring out on a ordinary phone to another landline or to a pc, your phone will also ring when a pc calls.
