Thought I should put virtual pen to paper before I forget in the heat (or should that be cold with the current weather conditions) of the moment !

It has been a huge year for MHF,

Close to 11,000 new members joined the site which is an amazing statistic all by itself but when you couple this with the unique visitors over the last 12 months of 1,701,490 and hits of 466,979,186 these figures are astronomical and something that I am certainly proud of. My little motorhome site has grown into a huge beast Wink

Campsite database has come on leaps and bounds, through perseverance from such members as gaspode/spykal/Olley/Sallytrafic/Peejay to check data input is correct and for all the members submitting reviews. This can only improve again in 2011 when we have iCampsites set of applications for the iPhone / iPad and PC/Laptop having their first full year of operation.

Rallies have grown with continual effort on behalf of the rally team as we have evolved to meet first the needs of the members and secondly to keep within the government regulations. Our rally program is continually improving

I want to give thanks to all the staff here on MHF who strive daily to keep us on an even keel, many of them take abuse in their roles of policing the site, some of them get praise but all of them work so hard in the background to assist me in the day to day running, housekeeping and admin tasks to keep the site afloat and improving !!

Thanks to all those who contribute, as with all community sites a tiny proportion of the mass as a whole actually contribute whether this is posting information, facts and figures, helpful posts in the forums, through to taking the time to write a review of their motorhome for future owners / prospective purchasers of the same vehicle to see and on to our many databases which without user input become stagnant.

I am truly proud of how MHF improves year on year, I have ideas aplenty and my only misgiving is there are not enough hours in the day for all the ideas that fall out of my head to be implemented on the site, lol some ideas I implement today may have actually been documented 2-3 years ago and has taken me this duration to actually plan and integrate them in !

Ben joined my small team over a year ago now, but his presence is being felt more and more on MHF with more and more code work falling to him so I expect you will be seeing more and more of his posts on the site in 2011 Wink

Every winter season we get the standard frustration creeping in, bickering becomes ever more present, mods are forced into taking more action but this is a temporary blip that occurs annually and certain posts make me sure MHF as an entity is a good reflection on human nature when everyone works together or gives praise / support to others on the site. In a few short weeks time this is forgotten as thoughts turn to planning spring / summer holidays out in the van and telling all of your travels on your return Smile

So thanks all of you for helping me make MHF what it is today, "The Largest and Fastest growing Motorhome website in Europe" Wink

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

So thanks to all of you

Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family Dave.
I bet you never envisaged when you started that your site would grow to what it is today.
I cant believe the friendship I have found on here always there day or night to help in more ways than just Motorhome chat.
I thank all of you to for our 50th Wedding Anniversary bash at Hamble --everyone still talks about it as the best rally of the year.
We have had some good times this year and lots of happy memories.

Heres to 2011 being just as much fun for you and for the Members

All the best for 2011 to you and yours Dave.

Bet you never thought what would happen with this site when you started it Laughing Laughing Laughing

Actually it just occurred to me that although most days I so just a quick spell on the computer as I don't want to "waste" time on here, I always pop into the site to see that everything is OK with people and pets and MHs I have never met and wouldn't know from Adam if I saw them on the street Shocked Strange world you have started Dave.

Thanks to the Mods too for their patience.

Sue
