Lots of the blue light services now us Countdown, slow speed / stop and start vehicles can get a reduction of up to 80% in emissions

A friend of mine even had MOT failure due to emissions, then put in a £3.00 bottle, back to the garage for a re-test and passed,

I think the big operators say they use it to reduce emissions "Bull " they use it for the same reason as i do = improves fuel consumption,

with the car i get 550 miles on a tank full, Crying or Very sad

using countdown 610 miles, Laughing

all tested in cold weather, the car has over 110.000 miles on the clock, uses no oil between services, Laughing

(10.000), Renault Scenic 1.9dti.

and no i do not work for countdown, just a verry happy user Laughing

I understand that Diesel was/is cheaper to refine than unleaded petrol and for a while the price of Diesel was 5 to 8p cheaper than unleaded.

However, over the last 1year or so Diesel is now more expensive than Petrol.

We know that the UK carries some of the highest fuel tax of any European country but should there be a tax difference between unleaded and Diesel.

As for Labour, they are no different to any other party except for one thing, they can't deliver, some in this post said that it pays to stay at home and this very comment was being made the last time they were in power in the 60's and 70's.

The audit committee have found that there have been £30billion wasted in failed goverment projects in the 1st 10 Years of Labour goverment that would fill a lot of Diesel tanks or for me, A lot more coppers, Nurses and Teachers in our schools.

So, how long do you think Cooker Oil would attract low duty if we all started to use it.

The thought of what these fuels, that have not been fully tested in diesel engines, may do the the working parts of the engine leaves me cold.

I would sooner spend an extra £100 a year on fuel than a few thousand pounds on a new engine every few years.

Older engines are less refined and more tolerant to the type of fuel used but the very complicated modern diesel engine is very fussy.

I have worked in a laboratory testing engines on such fuels a methanol and the effect of this fuel on the rubber seals etc inside the engine was catastrophic.
