Hi

I am looking for a printer that is easy to travel with (compact & light) and has a rechargable battery, i know that there are a few on the market but at extortionate prices?

Thanks

Hi

Check out Canons Bubble jets. I have one somewhere, it only does BW I think, has a rechargeable battery and is so small I cannot find it. Cost about £120 a couple of years ago.

Hi you need a Canon BJC80 which does have a colour printhead although the cartridges are small. The black printhead is is fine and compatible cartridges are easliy obtainable. However the bjc 80 is not a current model but there are usually several availble on ebay for around £40-£50.
I have 3 at the moment as I use them for my work and they are the last portable printers to still have a Dos print facility which I happen to need...they are perfectly normal Windows printers as well. The battery packs may be somewhat harder to source and IMHO don't have a great life before requiring charging but I may may just have a poor example

Laughing Hi wedick. I don't see the need for a rechargable Printer. I have a Canon Bubble-Jet BJC-2000 which is pretty compact and only cost me £15 including a scanner from ebay. It will run quite happily from a cheap inverter plugged into the Cigaette lighter. JAT. Wink

Hi John

The BJC 2000 is not in the right ballpark, in fact its not even the same sport!! here is an example of the scale, this will fit in a big pocket, the one you mentioned would be arkward in a bag, note the leads for scale....

Hi wedick

Unless you only need to print a few sheets, an invertor is a better investment than the batteries, probably one of the best an most reliable printers you will ever get, never had any problems.

Shocked I do know the difference George. I happen to have 2 BJC80's that were given to me not working. Just haven't got around to or found the necessity to do so. Why pay £120 plus? Wink

Hi John

Square peg, round hole?

Poster asked for 3 things

compact

Light

Battery power

So you suggested a heavy (for protable), arkward lump with no battery?

and it gets stranger the reason wedick doesnt need what he thinks he needs because " I don't see the need for a rechargable Printer." so if you dont need one, damn Cannon made a total Marketing boo boo, if only they had known.......................

Shocked George. There are those that have and those that want and those that KNOW.

Confused He also said:-

i know that there are a few on the market but at extortionate prices?

There is of course also the BJC50 Rolling Eyes Shocked

Hi

Just for clarity, I have never paid more than £35 for one ( I have had 2 ) I believe somebody had already mentioned "plenty about £40-50"

But £99 for a limited market product is still not exactly extortionate
