we have comprehensive insurance through Safeguard for the MH, and i noticed today there is a limit of £250 per item for loss/damage to contents. Problem is I have an expensive camera (£600) im planning to take away with me and would like to have it insured. It will be locked away in hidden safe in van on the few occasions im not taking pics so hopefully there wont be any problems - but better to be safe..... Does anyone else have similar probs, and if so how do you get around them. I thought travel insurance, but all policies ive seen dont cover loss/damage for items left in an unoccupied vehicle. Any help appreciated. |

Hi
Last year I took a home contents insurance policy out through the CClub, I asked for my laptops to be covered for theft or damage while travelling,I had to give serial numbers and replacement value.
Last Nov. at the midlands meet my 17 in powerbook screen was broken in the motorhome .. i claimed the full cost of repair .. £760. they paid out in full .. |

Don't rely on Lloyds-TSB for contents insurance. They're as useful as a chocolate fireguard. My laptop (and other items) was destroyed when the River Maritsa burst its banks in Bulgaria. "We don't cover floods" was all they would say, and they wouldn't even say that in writing.
It's only when you make a claim do find out how good an insurance company really is, behind the marketing hype. |
