Hi all I'm looking for a bit of help i have recently upgraded my camper from my 1989 camelot to a 1991 highwayman i purchased the highway man at a reasonable price due to it having a suspected head gasket fault but on further inspection it turns out the head is knackered due to no antifreeze.
so I'm on the look out for a new/recon/secondhand head and was wondering if any one in the know could point me in the right direction.
many thanks PHIL

Hi Phil,

you can try http://www.delfindesigns.co.uk/

or http://www.no1gear.com/

Both deal with Talbot so should be able to help.

A good engineering firm might be able to repair your old head by skimming if the face is not flat or welding & pressure testing a cracked head or just overhaul worn valve seats & valves etc.

Good luck & let us know how you get on.

Lack of antifreeze has probably caused the head to be eaten away under or next to where the firing ring sits, a good alloy welder will build it sufficiently to have it skimmed flat again, its only the firing ring area thats critical really the rest can look rough and still be ok.
