Hi There,

I'm a New Zealand resident but will be touring Europe by motorhome for a month from early June to early July. I'll be visiting Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. I need to access my email on a fairly regular basis during this time - say every two or three days - and I'll have my laptop with me for other business purposes anyway. I use Vodafone in NZ for my mobile phone and I'll also have that with me in Europe.
Can anyone advise me what is the most economical way to access email in these circumstances. Obviously I don't have any UK phone or ISP accounts although I will be in the UK immediately before this trip so I could set something up if there is an attractive option. I'm not too bothered about internet access - it would be nice but it's not essential. Email is the priority.

Thank you for any advice,
Pugwash.

Thanks Artona. My problem is getting onto the internet rather than accessing an email account once I'm on there. Once "on-line" I have no problem and can easily access my NZ email account.

I was hoping someone could suggest a way of getting on-line using my laptop and thereby avoiding internet cafes. (Nothing against internet cafes of course - I just thought it might be more convenient using my own computer whenever I chose instead of driving around looking for internet cafes). Can I open an account of some kind in Germany/Italy/France perhaps?

Any ideas anyone?

TIA
Pugwash.

Yes you can gain access to internet for emails, you are using your own laptop and i presume you are wireless as well.A lot of the Costa cafe and similar cafe's do supply free wireless connect to their customers.Do i remember somewhere on this site a list of hotspots as a free download.
Am sure someone will point you in the righ direction.Have a great tour.

Thanks Cabby. I've had a look but it seems to be predominantly a UK service with a few in Ireland, a couple in Germany and some in the US. I wonder if there's an equivalent in France, Germany and Italy? I'm sure there must be but I can't find them.

Regards
Pugwash.

Hi pugwash, the only other suggestion i can make, is to contact each countries camping club and ask for assistance.Mind you am sure that you will soon get some answers on this forum. They have a wealth of knowledge that is quite frightening to behold, also a remarkable semse of humour.good luck.
