My new (2010) Autotrail Apache fitted with an Omnistor 5002 awning has an expanding central rafter. One end clearly slots into a plastic cup behind the header rail. The other end seems to have something missing as the end of the rafter is bare metal and there is nowhere to slot it in on the van end. I suspect all I am missing is some sort of rubber grommet. I have emailed a dealer and guess what? no response!

Anyone got a complete rafter setup that can advise.

Is it a tubular spring loaded rafter. If so I also had the pole but no means of fitting to the motorhome . There is a fitting available and I got one from adealer at last years Shepton Mallet show. It was only a few pounds. Will try and locate it and get back
Dave

Had a look at the Omnistore website and downloaded catalogue.
On page 24 is a picture of a tension rafter which has an end piece. This is the same as I now have on my round telescopic sping loade rafter. It simply clicks on to the awning housing on the motorhome end. Its not listed separately but I,m sure they will tell you the part number etc if you ring. At the show I mentioned above the supplier had loads on the shelf and I reckon its a common request.

Edit, I see leisureshop direct have them listed as Tension Rafter connection pieces at £5.39.

The 5002 rafter should have a fitting that sits against the housing. The 5003 which supercedes the 5002 does not as it has similar fittings on the awning at both ends for the bare pole to sit in. They are though the same rafter just that the 5002 has the fitting fitted, the 5003 does not - if that makes sense.
You can see the rafters for the 5002/5003 in the attached link which shows the fitting on the 5002 one. You can get the fitting seperately as I have seen them at Rose Blinds in Poole.

Thanks to both Chudders and rayc. I had seen these links before posting but neither show a cup receiver at the header rail so wasn't sure I was looking at the same rafter. I will go ahead and order the part shown, I'm sure it's correct.

A close up ofthe part. Note that it fits ok to a round section spreader bar.
