We didn't take them last year on a trip to Southern Ireland, didn't have any problems with two vehicles. But have to admit I'm unsure if we weren't just lucky Confused

The rules are quite simple really. You are visiting another country, therefore you are required to bring proof that your vehicle is only a temporary import (vehicle registration document), certificate of motor insurance, driving licence and country of origin plate (GB).

However, having said that (this is by no means to be taken as Government policy Laughing ) we are a very 'laid back' nation and you will have no difficulty explaining, (we accept English as a language as well) your difficulty with the V10 (?).

Ireland has more or less converted to metric, but remember that the old black and white signposts are in miles, while the new green and white ones are in kilometres.

The orange badge issued to disabled drivers in the UK is recognised in Ireland. (Hope this doesn't apply but may be useful to others).

Happy holidays

We had a situation like this when we first got the van, log book away at Swansea and we needed it to go to France. We went to local DVLA office and they sold us a Certificate of Ownership which is valid for the purpose. Got a feeling it was around three pounds. They did it straight away once you got to front of counter !!! that was another story

As I said before, we're pretty laid back here. Smile If you need to dispel any doubts, quote this directly, and say a friend told you so. Wink
