Peterborough Show, this weekend.

Why is it a 'tugger' can take up the space for a car, caravan & a 3 metre awning, when a motorhome is restricted to just that, unless they have a fixed awning? Mad

It's a trade show not a rally, despite that some clubs make it into a rally.
The organizers can make up whatever rules they wish even though it may seem unfair to one group or another.
To you it's a tugger but to the organizers it's potentially another 30/40/50 grand sale for one of their stand holders.
It's worth thinking that if the trade didn't attend it then there wouldn't be about 2000 m/hs gathered in one place like there will be.

Hey guys, chill out. That’s the joy of running your own show, you can make up as many rules as you like and there’s nothing anyone else can do about it. All you need to remember is that shows are for the traders benefit, and yours is only incidental Wink

As for packing some people in like sardines, I thought there was regulations against that sort of practice.

As for getting up tight about the two caravan clubs, yes caravan clubs, don’t worry about them either. I too was once a member of one of them until I read a savage attack on motor homers and wild camping of which I was surprised that the editor let it go. The result of that attack made me even more determined to be a really wild wild camper and not renew my membership, a decision I have never regretted Very Happy

[b:b14b951c49]your'e[/b:b14b951c49] my hero steve!

Thinking about ditching the caravan club, mainly cos of stupid electricity rule (there i go again), but will probably stay for the cheap ferry crossings and cl's.

pete.

On the topic of clubs, is anyone a member of the Motor Caravan Club?
I looked at the site and what they offered and thought it wasn't good value for money, few cls etc is it worth while joining ?

Any views anyone Question

O.K. this thread's sidetracked onto clubs but for what it's worth I'm not keen on any of them, I only join because the discounts make it worth while. For instance joining the CC got me a similar discount to the membership premium, and I've still got cheap ferry deals to benefit from.

We are in the MCC Jim, we joined for the atmosphere and choice of rallies.

Much friendlier than CC Ralilies we had been to both in the NE and the NW and they tend to be "booking not reqd" similar to C&CC rallies but sites more suitable for m-homes, bit like the MCS of the C&CC without the stupid politics of the MCS

Most MCC members are in one of the major clubs in fact it was a C&CC member that recruited us into MCC

I think if we hadnt got our cars insured with CC (good deal for disabled) I would kick them in touch now as they really dont have the interest in m-homes and the C&CC club offer over 55s discounts on main sites which makes them competiitve in a lot of cases with CLs
