I have a old friend who has just bought a 2004/5 Compass Avantgarde 400 and is not sure about charging the vechile battery whilst on hook up.

(I am also trying to get him to join MHF, which he will do, as he previously had a Bongo. Very Happy )

On the switch panel which allows power to run from either the Aux Battery or the Van Battery. When on hook up, if the switch is set to Van battery, will it trickle charge the van battery?

Any help that I can pass on, is gratefully received.

I am certain that no model built as an Elddis or Compass motorhome had the facility to charge the vehicle battery.

An additional bit of kit will be needed. I am sure somebody will tell you what is required.

There was only one time my Elddis van stood for a long time and I just used an old battery charger I had laid about.

Hi the switch is from memory so you can run on both vehicle or leisure but the charger will only charge the leisure battery well thats how it is on the avantgarde 100 i worked on a few months ago.
