Of course I walked away.

However I do believe even without one you have much more rights if things go wrong when buying from a dealer. I think if I was buying again at around the £20K budget I would still look for a private sale.

Can you buy private and then purchase a warranty through a dealer? I know you can do this with cars. I do wonder though from reading threads on here just how good some of these warranties actually are.
