I have read the many posts about the satellite kits from Lidl but have never managed to get one. There are many reasons that I wont go into here.
But I have found an alternative at Maplin which might fit the bill.
If anybody knows this item I would be grateful for feedback.
Please check it out:

No direct experience, but did have a natter with a chap who had bought one, reckoned it was a fiddly set up (but if you read up that seems to be normal, but it also gets easier the more times you do it) but other than that he was well pleased with it. The dish is pretty big though is bigger than it looks in the Maplin Picture with the digibox making it look quite small.

Link works OK but they are out of stock at present.
The dish is a tad on the large side (80cm), on the one hand it will get you a good signal and on the other hand it will be more difficult than the Lidl system to align. Contrary to popular opinion, the small dishes such as the Lidl one are easier to set up as the larger the dish the more accurate it needs to be aimed.
Old thread, but did you get this kit sparrow? What did you think? what is the make/model of the reciever?
Cheers
Nick

No I didnt go for it in the end.
I did without a satellite system through last year.
However last month I bought a tripod mounted dish and acquired an old Pace make decoder which I am trying to configure to work. Only tried once so far and no luck, perseverance I am told is what is required, I just want it to work.
Cheers
Mike
