Hi all
I dread mentioning this as we have yet to make it to any of the last 3 shows we had hoped to attend (we did get to the Earls Court one but didn't know anyone on MHF then )
However.....'whispers' we are going to try and get up to Peterborough for one last look at the MH's prior to making our very first purchase.
I have booked a room in the Holiday Inn (cheapy one) opposite the show ground so will literally be on foot. I wish we could be with all you guys attending and parked up in the Red Zone as it sounds like a lot of fun.
Will have my Subs card but not got a pennant yet...will try and find the MHF posh tent and buy one.
Fingers crossed we will be able to escape the builders and will see some of you soon.
Cheers
Maura

Yep sure did and it was really nice. We have told the guy we are very interested but just want to try and get up to the show to satisfy ourselves that we have made the right decision. Only bit I felt cramped in was the kitchen area and thats why we need to satisfy ourselves on the size aspect. Hubby is a well fed 5'11 and I'm not exactly Twiggy either so we need to be sure we wont feel claustrophobic.
We only want to have a look at a couple of compact low profiles plus the Devon Monte Carlo and one of the IH Campers. We have our list and intend to stick to it. Our 1st choice will always be a Ford Transit and then a Renault Master so our choices are limited anyway.
Its just that the last 3 attempts we tried to get to a show failed due to various probs here with either family or builders and we are hoping that this time we will be more successful + we really would like to meet some of the others who are attending the show from MHF - are you going by any chance?
Will keep in touch and let you know how it all works out.

One or two I wouldn't mind keeping hostage but thats strictly between you and me ...right?
Its a loooooong boring story which I won't bore you with.
Looking forward to a cuppa in the gazebo or something a tad stronger maybe.
Now then you being a girl of experience what advice can you offer in the way of outdoor attire for these events. Is it fur coats and wellies or Barber Jackets and trilby's...I don't want to look out of place.

Something a tad stronger will be arranged for sure.
Casual,jeans/skirt and jacket.....you may need wellies if it is wet but comfy shoes are a must........don't put your fur jacket on,the dealers will be after you

You've obviously doen your homework. The Devon Monte Carlo will probably be my next vehicle if I can get comfy in the driving seat. My fleet vehicle contact tells me that taller drivers find them a tad uncomfortable on long journeys possibly because our French friends tend to be more vertically challenged. I'm 6ft 1" so it is possible I will find the Renault OK.
I 've only seen an IH Camper on a Fiat but was incredibly impressed by the quality of finish. I'm not going to the Peterborough show. I'm currently attempting to sell two houses and buy another so will be busy in South Devon trying to find a suitable place to live.

Hi LadyJ, thanks, looking forward to meeting you all. Does anyone have a mobile number for contact purposes at the show? I will be looking out for you but I understand that there are over 90 acres of this showground (gulp) and 20 miles of road....according to the official website. Would be nice to send a text.
Gelathae, you poor man. You have my deepest sympathy, trying to sell one house is hard enough...but 2? plain madness. My son and his family just sold their little house and we have helped them with that (last week) it was a nightmare from start to finish. They have ended up renting a house for 6 months as they couldn't find something to move into and didn't want to lose their sale. People kept on pulling out of chain. I have never seen so much tension and frustration all round and added to that we do still have some ongoing building work ourselves (have I mentioned that once or thrice ) so will be glad to get up to the show for a break from it all.
Good luck with the move and yes you quite right I am well up on all the theory, been studying all I can, now just need to be able to put it into practice.
