Hi All,

We are Ian & Kay from West Yorkshire,we are planning to go full timing soon as we are fed up of the rat race,in recent months we have had both cars broken into, attempted burglary on the house, who needs it!!
We would realy appreciate any advice that fellow members can give us to make the transition as smooth as possible,as we can forsee potential pitfals that hopefuly members may be able to advise us on,such as insurance, mail, and also work, can one still get part time work without a full time address?
We would realy appreciate your help

Many thanks

Ian & Kay

Here are the details of a book written by a full timer of many years.

Anna has written many times in the magazines. I have not read the full book but her articles have been good.

Anna Shannon
Chloe Productions
PO Box 274
Scarborough
YO11 1XY
£5 + £1 p&p

info@chloepro.com
I know it's only £6 but I would mail them first to see if it's still available.

Hi Ian and Kay, well I have made the substantial transition to full timing but rather than me trying to remember anything to help you, just ask away and i will attempt to answer your misgivings / queries Wink

All I can say initially is GO FOR IT NOW !!!

Hi Yorkscouple

We are fulltimers and have found things were not as complicated as we thought they would be, we purchased the Anna Shannon "booklet "( that is what it is ), i would'nt bother with it personally.I think you'll find a face to face meeting with fulltimers will answer most of your questions. We are based in North Yorkshire and will be back there in mid May if you want to come over and chat you will be welcome.

I have not fulltimed but have spoken to a lot of people who have and find it appealling. My view is that you are still going to face potentially being broken into etc., fulltiming does not escape that, it is simply an alternative way of living. It gives potential adventure with the ability to travel at will.

We are getting our house in order so that we can be in a position to have a go. We are developing an escape route in that we are retaining our house to return to if the grass is not greener on the other side.

In the meantime we will officially live at my mums so we have a permanant address and we will view our fulltiming simply in year long holidays. It is important that your plans do not upset anyone and the authorities like to think they know where you live. This balances up their books.

Work should be no problem, depends on what you go for, what have you in mind?
