Many thanks for all your helpful recipes, I don't feel entirely on my own and I am sure that this site is available for all tastes. I don't want to feel different and I suppose I would eat other food if I was being entertained by someone who was not vegetarian I would not want to embarrass them in any way, strangely this has not happened to me

Hi Jackkelly32,

I don't think being a vegetarian is really such a problem these days. I think the majority of people try to understand and cater for most diets. I certainly do and I hope that others try to understand my "need" for a Gluten/Wheat Free diet, which also includes no Lactose or eggs Laughing Laughing Laughing

I know, sounds like I can't eat anything, but in fact my diet is lots of fresh vegetables, fruit and meat Laughing I have enough "restrictions" in my diet and can't really afford to "pick and chose" the items that I am able to eat. I do however enjoy what is termed "vegetarian" foods, of the fresh variety Laughing

Hi Anne
I have a friend who was recently advised to go Gluten Free and on our annual trip to Rutland we went for our usual coffee in a very good coffee shop in Oakham, I mentioned to the waitress that my friend was now on a gluten free diet and she was presented with the best chocolate gateau I have seen I then even wished that I was gluten free!

Hi Jackkelly32,

Believe me, you do not want to be on a Gluten Free diet Laughing It is a nightmare for family and friends at functions trying to cater for us, and usually a nightmare for Coeliacs too Laughing Mostly we take our own food with us, althought I know several outlets do cater for the Gluten Free diet, they aren't always "perfect". I normally end up with grilled or poached fish, which is fine, but sometimes I really feel I would like something a bit "different".

Anne

Anne
Many thanks for all your ideas, I have just found Redwoods who seem to have a good range of Vegie food
info@redwoodfoods.co.uk
They only recently introduced vegie chicken style pieces I will have a look out for them, anyone tried them?
