Not too often that you can commend companies for their Customer Service but here's one example that I think is worthy of a few lines;

I had a Cruise Control fitted to my Hobby 17 months ago by a Company called Ultimate Design http://www.ultimatedesign.co.uk/ of Kettering, on recommendation from a fellow motorhomer. Until a few months ago it had performed admirably and was everything I'd hoped it would be when I shelled out the cash.

However, while on my recent Continental trip, it started malfunctioning and it became clear to me that the servo (the expensive bit!) was failing gradually. By the time I returned home, it was almost completely defunct.

Having returned home, I contacted Ultimate Design by phone and despite the fact that I was outside of a normal warranty period, felt slightly reassured by their invitation to "drop it in and we'll sort it, no problem".

I took the van in this afternoon to Kettering. Any fears I might have had about having to cough up for a new servo after such a short period of time were calmed as their electrical engineers, Burwell & Ward, cheerfully installed a new servo while I watched, road tested the vehicle and then handed it back to me, all within 40 mins.

To my astonishment, I was then told that there would be no charge because, "These should last much longer than this has". The most surprising aspect of this was that they hadn't even asked me my name until they'd finished the job and the mechanic had no idea how long it was since they had done the original fitting.

So, should you need a cruise, or any of their other products, here's a recommendation from me for a Company that clearly stand by their products - hats off to Ultimate Design of Kettering.

Hi,

Its good to see reports like the above, perhaps we need a new folder on the forum called something like ‘Company Reports’. Then everyone would benefit from this positive feedback Very Happy

I have fitted two cruise controls purchased from Ultimate Design in Kettering, both still working fine. One is now 13 years old and has just been taken off my wife's vehicle so I can fit it to the replacement when it arrives. The other 7 years old on the camper.
