Hitting France at weekend and with diesel at 99.9p a litre was wondering how much the diesel is in France as need to know where to top up first?

What is a good price at present and for those near Dunkerque, is the Auchann there the cheapest?

Where do most people find the cheapest diesel in France?
Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris

Came back from Germany 3 weeks ago and the fuel was 9 cents/ltr cheaper in Belgium.
Luxembourg 98.9 cents
Germany 113 cents
France Auchan Dunkirk 110 cents
Holland same as UK
Belgium 102

These were the town prices not the trunk roads.

A little while ago, somebody posted a link to a website which showed diesel prices across Europe. Was it on the AA website? Something like that?

Without doubt the cheapest places for fuel are French Supermarkets and certainly under a Euro a ltr in those we went into. Motorway and town garages are more expensive. Bit like Tesco scene here.

Last week they ranged from 1.04 (Intermarche) through 1.11 (most total etc) to 1.21 (Autoroutes)

Belgium was slightly cheaper but only just.

I agreed with 2points figures. The supermarkets that we visited did not take UK credit cards in the automatic fuel pumps. So if its lunch time, out of hours e.g Sundays you will be out of luck with UK credit cards.

Will be looking for the "Intermarche" then. Have to stock up in Dunkerque first and this time I will not let hubby panic that we have to cross channel with a full tank of diesel " loaded up in Dover "just in case"?
I think he's more relaxed about filling up this year so hope to save some more pennies now.
Thanks all
Chris
