A "home" button would be useful at the bottom of the post pages. Save scrolling up all the time.
whadaya think mr administrator?

Jim,

I've got m/hfacts set as my homepage so i just click on the wee house at the top to go back to the home page. Do you mean a 'back to top of page' button? That would be useful.

Hi Pete

What a good idea, thanks, I've got my home page as yours but never thought of pressing the browser home button Embarassed I always scrolled up and pressed the site home button.
A "top of page" button is a good idea.

I also think a 'Back to top of page' or similar would be good, also the 'jump to: ' feature doesn't work for me, any one else have the same problem?

Dave,

The 'jump to' thing doesn't work with me either. i get an error message 'sorry, can't access this file directly'. Up until you mentioned it, i hadn't used it though.

Slight diversion, i emailed Dave (nuke) a while back and sugested that it might be a good idea if owners motorhome details were displayed below the spanners and location and he's kindly looking into the feasibility of this, i think it might prompt more people to enter their details and help as an instant reference when you post a query. Any comments on this?

Good idea Pete, we are also members of a boating forum, and they have the facility you mentioned, you 'click' on the posters name and then have access to their profile/bio..seems to work well Cool

I was going to use mhfacts as my home page but as it takes so long to load I decided to stay with a blank page instead.
The wait for the site to load is the worst I have encountered in any of the sites I use.

Thats strange Nobby, mine loads really quickly, not being a computer buff though, i haven't got a clue why one user loads quickly and another doesn't, perhaps someone could enlighten us (in easyspeak please!).

Pete haven't a clue.
I did think it might have been the phone line but I checked it out on a speedtest site and it came up ok, and anyway other sites load up very quick considering it's not broadband.
The only thing I can think it might be is that my first page is the one with latest 20 postings as there is nothing else I would need to go to first normally.
Even so when I post anything it takes an age before confirmation and then another age before I'm back where I want to be
