If I remember correctly, there is an alarm on the market that will ring you but it's not a Thatcham approved one. There is a Thatcham approved Tracker that calls your phone and can also imobilise the van via text message. These cost almost £500 fitted.

Hi Ray,

The Van Bitz Strikeback does have that facility, but at a cost.

Phone Alert Paging System: (+£340.00 Incl. VAT) plus the cost of the alarm of course.

See...

Yes you can Stew, I have a dailer in the house, the only problem would be you would need a telephone line in the motorhome.... Very Happy

Hi Stew,

I have thought about this often, the problem is as I see it is the mobile would need modifying to allow the dialler to make the call, mobiles don‘t get a dial tone as such you simple input the number and press call, if you know what I mean.

How these fairly cheap diallers work in residences/shops etc is they are connected to a land line, when the alarm activates it dials pre-programmed numbers to alert the owner.

Quite simple technology apparently.

Thats how the Strikeback works, it has a sim card built into the alarm which is PAYG Smile
