Hello everybody. Very Happy

We are thinking of replacing our coachbuilt with something like a Benimar 680cc from eithier RDH in Nottingham or Van Bitz in Taunton.

Has anybody got experience of this van, Benimar in general or the dealers mentioned. We are a bit nervous of spending 40k!

Great Website by the way, creep, creep. A real ocean of information, sorry if anything already posted on the subject. I've been reading for weeks and have not seen much about Benimar. Are they any good?

Can't help you with comments on the Benimar motorhome but you mention 2 suppliers.
VanBitz are primarily suppliers of alarm and nav. systems for motorhomes and in fact supplied our systems about 18 months ago.
They were just starting to sell Benimar mhs about that time if I remember correctly.

When we were collecting information and viewing mhs in the summer of 2002 we visited RDH in Nottingham as we were interested in one of the Benimar models. We were not impressed with RDH. Their core business was mh hire and it showed. They were totally disinterested in discussing our needs.

We have owned our Anthus for nearly 4 years now and have found both RDH in Nottingham and the satellite in Kent to be very helpful.

Why not pop along to our web site:

It's pretty quiet but ask some questions on the BENICHAT and I'm sure someone will reply - not the chairman though as he is moving house this weekend Rolling Eyes

Hi Beanie and welcome.

That's just the sort of informative post we need on this site and your response proves the worth of MotorHomeFacts.com. as a place to seek information.

Hi,

I bought a 1 year old Benimar from RDH, and was very pleased with the way I was treated.

I was having a problem getting the Tow A Car (A frame) fitments fitted to my car, the problem being the the fitting agent couldn't fit me in for about 2 months.

I happened to mention this to RDH and they said if I drove the tow car up on the day I was due to pick up the Benimar and arrived by 8.00am they would fit it for me. Which they did, and I thought this was "beyond the call of duty"

I also had some dealings with VanBitz and again found them very helpful.

I don't think you'll have a problem with either of these companys

My own Benimar was bought privately from the original owner a couple of years ago - it was one of the first imported by RDH.

It's had one or two problems and despite the fact they've never seen a penny of my money (except for a few spares), RDH have been helpful beyond the call of duty. The spares, by the way, were cheap and arrived promptly.

Although I won't be buying another Benimar (not that there's anything wrong with them, it's just not what I want), I'd be happy to deal with RDH.

Overall that looks quite pleasing. I read elsewhere that Android was chatting about his 'van in the chat room, pity I missed that. If Benimar starts to become a serious option I'm sure I will bombard you all with more questions!

Thanks again, keep up all the good work,

Sweepy

We have owned our Benimar for just over a year having bought it from RDH at Nottingham. In my opinion their service is second to none.... They are very very helpful and, in my experience, always are prepared to go the extra mile. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. The Benimar is spot on for our needs.
