Hi

Is there any difference between using "file and close" or "X" in the top right hand corner?

I was always told at work to "file and close"

Any info at all or is it a wives tale?

Are you refering to closing programs or windows. I am sure my windows reverts back to the desktop where there is no x or am I having a barmy moment.

You should always close windows properly since the prgram sorts out all sorts of things during the proper close down procedure.

I dont think it matters if you file close or X it. Whatever method you use it has the same action... it asks if you want to save and then shuts the program down.

Maybe windows is the wrong word. I am browsing MHF now. When I have finished should it be "X" in the top right or, from the top left, "file and close"
