Hi all
We are looking at buying a campervan in the near future and would like some information about what type of camper to buy,van make, diesel, petrol etc. My partner and I are from New Zealand and wish to do some touring of the uk and eventually parts of Europe. We have a tight budget of around £2-3000 .We would like a high top van that is very reliable and has the basics like a dbl bed ,cooker, sink and mains hook u so if anyone can help with any useful suggestions as to what vehicle to buy ,websites and or magizines as we are new to this any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

I can't help you with your questions but I can welcome you and tell you that these are a friendly group of people you've joined and if they can help you they will
We have a hightop VW T4 - Autosleepers Trident and does exactly as you want with double bed cooker, sink, heating and fresh/waste tanks and is perfect for selfcontained traveling. However you will be hard pushed to get a T4 at the price you want. May I suggest looking at an equivilent T3 since they are actually bigger inside than a T4 but have the age to lower the prices. They can range from £2-3k to £10k. Originally we were looking at getting something along your price range but the one we saw was £4k and a real dog. May I suggest looking into spending a little more and then selling after you have used it they hold thier value very well. I assume you are doing the classic 1-2years tour of the old world before going back to NZ?
There is a company somehere (Sorry I cant remember who it is but they do have a site dedicated to VW campers. They will sell you a van for a fixed period and garentee to buy it back at a set price provided no damage etc.
Happy hunting and keep checking this post, there will be plenty of others telling you whats what.
A

Select kastervan and 5000 euros and there is a lot to choose. I think I am right in saying that the German MOT is stricter than ours plus you get more for your money, plus if you pick it up over there, you don't have to pay the ferryman.
If I am talking a load of rubbish, could someone say so because i don't want to mislead anyone.
