Hi,
I am in the process of building our website, I am using Serif Pageplus 11.
I have copied pictures to a page and reduced them in size to fit many on a page. My intention being you can click on photo and it enlarges. I have tried this in test but it fails to enlarge. Any Ideas please?
TIA
Steve

I have made many websites but I have not used the package you are talking about.
Not sure if the way I do it is best but basically I put two pics on the site, one is the small thumbnail size pic that is hyperlinked to another larger pic that is hiding away on another page. This other page is designed to open in another window so that when the viewer closes it the origonal page with the thumbnails is still there.
I am sure there might be better ways of doing it. Dave (656) is an expert as is Snelly
Hi Stew,
You do it the same as me I like you would like to do it simplar if possible.Pageplus 11 is a desktop publisher program that has Web design features.
Need a free webhost soon
Thanks ayway
Safe travels to the three of you

Nice one, Bob. I looked at your website a while ago, and noticed the flash-based photo album. Really nice and simple, and I like the fact it doesn't cover the thumbnails with the main image. The only thing I'm not sure about is the use of Flash, especially as I have a problem at work just now with a Flash9 update not registering properly. Jalbum is definitely worth a look.
Steve - why go for free hosting? I've found they're sometimes more trouble than they're worth. I use

for all my hosting. They're one of the cheapest around. You can get a UK domain name (

is taken, unfortunately, but you can get

for instance) with 2 years' registration and 2 years' 'Bargain' hosting, all for the princely sum of £22.32 inc VAT. Much better that than wrestling with popup ads and weird restrictions from free hosts. You can always use webspace from your ISP if you need to.
I've also used

from time to time for a quick website - you can do all the design online, so you don't have to create it and upload it, and most of the hard work is done for you. Oh, and it's free.
PM me if you want to discuss it further, Steve.

I am very interested in this subject, very accomplished with publisher and have many pics on laptop used with the normal slideshow, just now I have problem - my husband bought me a Hanns 19" lcd monitor for xmas but with a widescreen laptop the reproduction on monitor is distorted. Is the only answer to buy widescreen monitor? The idea was to make viewing easier. Also which is true - widescreen or the normal monitor reproduction? (TV's seem to vary too)
Thanks, Wendy

Cheap hosting doesnt mean they are good, best going for recommendations, I used to use a UK hosting site (cheap) and our site was down (offline) so many times I moved it, now offering my own hosting but recommend

I have never found one that offers this for the money and dead reliable.

You need to alter the screen resolution. Most standard 4/3 screens use 1024 X 768 resolution. Your widescreen lappie probably has a 1280 X 768 setting.
