Hi beagle

Sounds a familiar story, wait in queue, argue about whether the van has been registered in Germany or not, debate whether it's age is the chassis date or the coachbuilders date, keep waiting for the counter clerk to "ask the supervisor" fine as long as you're prepared to stand your ground and waste a couple of hours. All done in the most friendly manner though.

When the German end took a few minutes with no appointment and no queues it make the UK operation look amateurish.

Recently imported an RV from USA. Fedex lost the title document but i had copies from the shipping agent. Went to DVLA in Preston and was told they couldn't register it without the original title from USA.

GUTTED!!!!

Rang dealer in USA...no problem they said you will have a copy of the title on your doormat before the end of the week.................im sure!!

BUT NO...............sure enough 3 days later nice new shiney title delivered by DHL.....YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!

Im still waiting for the forms from Inland Revenue to confirm the tax and VAT have been paid before i can register it though (Been 2 weeks now..............why is it i can get a document from USA in 3 days but a simple form from IR takes an age????)

I wait with baited breathe for my form!!!
