at some stage tonight my pc went barmy so i shut it down....when i re opened it and went into my outlook express my inbox and all its subfolders had disappeared.....i have found them on my pc but don't know how to put them back into the outlook express window

You could try a system restore start - programs - accesories - system tools. The program basically takes you back a few days to before the mishap happened
sorry didn't explain that as clearly as i should have done.....in my local folders the inbox is showing there but it is empty except for stuff that has come through in the last few hours.....so everything that i had filed into subfolders in my inbox has gone....i can't really do a restore as i have done so much stuff on my pc in the last few days i can't afford to lose other stuff

which is the same directory
it looks to me as though they are still in outlook express but are hidden. i did some research and it looks like i could restore them and it was probably caused by some kind of virus or were messed up due to the sntivirus software i have
