Hi

A couple of hours ago, the yellow block thing under the back wheel gave way, putting the van at a very interesting angle!

Since been rectified by removing the remains and also the one under the front wheel and replaceing with a paving slab!

Strange it should "suddenly" just go though.

Russell

According to the news ....

The Yellow Leveller thingy will have gone crunch due to one of two things ...

Global Warming
or
Bird Flu

Not sure if either are covered by warantee though.

Not wishing to belittle your situation in any way, but most interesting is that I never knew there was a forum section for levelling devices! And yours is the first post Russell!

I have to say mine seem quite solid, no trouble so far but I shall re-examine them now.

I watched a bloke trying to get his van up a pair of homemade wooden ones once. They were very smooth and everytime he got it on it slid back off very gently, luckily not sideways, perhaps he shouldn't have varnished them.

Hi Russell,

I binned the yellow ones that came with the MH, and bought two of the red heavy duty type. they are excellent.

Jock.

If it is any consolation Russel, I bust mine first trip out with them too. I use the remains to support two pieces of plank cut to a size to just fit nicely in my locker. They have the added advantage of lying them flat on the ground if you just want to raise one corner up a little or being able to raise them higher
with pieces of 4x4 inch timber which also come in useful for other things, like chocking wheels.

You can see I am not a fan of the "yellow things" and whilst I have had difficulty using them at the steeper angles on wet ground, I have not slid off them yet. There again they are not varnished.

Hi

The paving slabs work a treat and I also contructed a ramp using mud and gravel!

The "yellow things" are designed for caravans, the ones I have are now banana shaped but still working at the moment.

Hi

I do not know the proper name for them, but everyone seems to know what I am referring to - with the title "yellow things"
