Hi;

We're off to dabble in some winter sports in mid February for 12 days and have booked the Caravan Clubs winter sports insurance for £34 each in addition to our multi-trip travel policy which seems reasonable enough to me.

Although its already booked I'd still be interested to hear how you all insure yourself for winter sports if at all, whether i've got a good deal and any good deals or packages you know of for future reference.

break a leg (hopefully not!).

Hi
We have a Lloydstsb platinum account which costs £12 a month (i think).
This gives us both full AA cover, holiday insurance including winter sports, mobile phone insurance and other benefits.
It also gives a preferential loan rate which when we took a loan out saved us more than the £12 cost.
I had cause to claim on the holiday insurance when I lost my wallet. No forms to fill in, very quick service and I actually got back more than I claimed for.
James

for our travel insurance we use direct travel. we buy family annual insurance for 2 adults a 16 year old a 9 year old and a 1 year old for £69.00 per year including winter sports. this was the one we found that covered us for the longest periods of time skiing. alot only allow for 10 days these cover for 17 days for as many times a year as you want. last year my daughter broke her wrist. we had no problems at all only the excess to pay no paperwork whatsoever. this year the premium has gone down by a few quid even though we claimed. i can't recommend them enough

We have similar through natwest goldcard and it gives us unlimited travel insurance max trip length 31days, winter sports premium now included too (used to be an add-on). It's excellent in my opinion.

I use Snowcard. They specialise in sports insurance, and you can get insured either for summer sports, or winter sports or both or just travel. They have different packages depending whether you want UK, Europe or worldwide, and whether you want cancellation, baggage or medical included. They do single or multi-trip. The cost depends largely on the degree of risk. They do anything from strolling in the countryside, through to high altitude mountaineering, such as I have. They are very helpful, and if you need something adding for just a week, say, it is easy and good value to do so. I can recommend them - although I personally have yet to make a claim. Proof of puddings and all that!

Thanks Hannah & Ruth.

The insurance was booked today on the spur of the moment, suddenly realised we travel next week and didn't have anything arranged Rolling Eyes .
I think we'll have to shop around and look into a proper package for next year as we will probably be taking a few more winter trips then.

We've just booked ours for £57 for 12 months (family of 4, including winter sports cover)

I have found the following search site excellent for finding best insurance deals on car, and travel
