HI,
I'm going to Holland for a week over Easter and would be interested in any suggestions of sites to stay at atound the Amsterdam area.
Also any places that we must visit while there, would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Don't forget your bikes.

Going in June--been twice before.
Usually keep clear of large cities, very heavy populated country, really friendly people.
I am sure you will enjoy it.

Have a look at the acsi website.
http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/europe/
No doubt you'll find something.
Or try the following link. The comments from people about it are very good and apparently only 5 min. by bus onto the city or 10 min. by bike. Never stayed here myself.

Hope this is of help.

Kind regards

you could try - Delft - Haarlem - Alkmaar - Edam -Hoorn - Gouda - Grouw - Arnhem
my own favourite - depending how much time you have would be to amble up the west of the country across the Afluitsdijk, back through Friesland - which is a lot quieter -

it sounds a lot, but it is very compact, and you can always start - you don't have to finish!!

Cool

My favourite Amsterdam site is in the database = Gaaspercamping.

What sets this up for me is that its 5mins to the metro to take you into Amsterdam and on the route of the night bus to bring you back plus its on the ring road.

have a look at their website

Regards frank

Get behind early - it gives you more time to catch up.

True it is an absolutely brilliant spot; we walked past it a few years ago, lots of backpackers / young groups of tenters. Reminded me of a Youth Hostel only under canvas - nice sweet smell coming from it tho Razz
We prefer to find a quiet site and then use trains / trams to travel into the cities. Public transport is brill, love the double decker trains Laughing

Edam is nice and you can get a bus to Amsterdam and it only takes 25 mins the bus lanes need to be seen to be believed.
Delft is worth a visit. You may be surprised at how busy the roads are.
