In my dim and distant past I remember using a specific key combination to type regularly used words or phrases. I think it was in Word using macroes. Does anyone know of a way in which I can program a key sequence that will work in whatever program I am currently using? The reason I ask is that I am fed up with having to type my email address in full and would like to be able to type it with a couple of key depressions.

In Word Autotext function you can choose to replace a word or letters with others ie you could decide to use your initials or any combination of keys and replace them with your email address. I find this the easiest thing in word.

There is a program called Typeitin which allows you to assign words, sentences etc. to a button. Click on a button and the string attached to it is inserted at the cursor position.
There is a free and a paid for version at:-

for years. It works with vitually anywhere in Windows.

I use it to hold the individual lines of my address, telephone & CC nos and email addresses.

Very useful for filling in forms on websites etc.

I use the auto correct feature in Word.

For example

open auto correct in word
in the replace box type #1ea
in the with box type john.smith @blueyonder.co.uk

It tricks word into thinking you have made a misspelling #1ea and replaces it with your e-mail address

or anything else for that matter including addresses.
