Greetings,

I always use Numion for checking speeds.

Thanks Bryan for that link, I think it about the best I have tried, but the others from other members have been usefull.

I must check with Karoo about what speed I should get for £17.99 a month or if there are any other packages. We cannot take advantage of other companies as Karoo has the monoploy iin the Hull area.

There are now a whole host of speed testers out there - some of which have been mentioned in this thread.

I particularly liked PCPitstop - although I wasn't too sure of the results as they looked a little generous. Will try it again later.

The one I use is Dan Elwell's speed test which can be found

It is a very thorough test and runs far more detailed tests than the others.
Having said that it is presented in any easy to understand way.

There is a free version but this does not do everything the full version can.
I paid the one-off £10 for the full version a few years back when I couldn't persuade my ISP that I had problems. The nice thing about the registered version is that it saves all of your tests and can produce factual reports to send to your ISP as proof. Mine certainly changed their attitude with that so it was well worth the tenner!

Humber Traveller - this may be what you need to make Karoo listen to you. It's so easy to blame other things like, BT, your phone connections, the way you set it up etc.
