hi guys
i am a first time owner of an autohomes travelhome transit 2.5 td based .
ive found a piece of wiring that looks like it belongs somewhere , best to mention here my fridge dont work on 12 volt , anyway the wires blue and brown are routed next the leisure battery but are joined together ?? with a caravan fuse holder 25 amp problem is surely they shouldnt be joined together and im assuming they belong to the positive terminal as its fused , and the blue to neg ,i wish i could find an instruction manual for the zig unit as ive tried driving along with the 12 volt on and off with both battery select on main battery (little guy in drivers seat)and leisure( with the little picture of a tree next to the camper) fridge does work ok on mains . another zig question , from what i understand its basically powering the domestic type socets directly and its a battery charger that recharges the battery as i use the 12 volt equipment ,right?
many thanks in advance
cheers
kenny

I think the blue and brown wires should be stuck together although their should be one more wire somewhere (possible white, red or black)I think that shouldn't be stuck with them. As it is 25 amp fuse, I can't think of anything else that would warrent this fuse other than a fridge unless you have a Rangemaster double fan driven oven, with wok burner and hotplate.
But I know nuffink so please wait for an expert. |

For your own safety,
Do not assume that any cables should be connected to anything.
The situation you have explained needs an electrician using a multimeter to trace its source and connection.

Hi, kenny. I think your question is just too specialised and too dangerous to get wrong, for you to get meaningful advice here. You really need a face-to-face discussion with someone who has knowledge, or, best of all, do as brez says (sez?) and engage an auto-electrician, preferably someone with knowledge of motorhomes.
For safety, don't be tempted to fiddle with the wiring if you really are not sure and don't have the right equipment. If it goes badly wrong, the whole motorhome could go up.

| Jesus. When you post a picture you post a picture. Too techy for me I'm afraid but I think what others have said is best. YOu need to take it to a man that does. |

This picture would have been clearer if you had reduced it first.
But, from my view these cables have already been tampered with, and left in a very shoddy state.
(No cables whatsoever should pass OVER the Honeycomb crown!).
Please for your own safety get an experienced sparky to look at this.

Hi Kenny
get a meter on those wires or better still get an electrician who has some vehicle/caravan experience.
