A couple of weeks ago we bought an Alba 15" flat screen TV for £100 +vat and an Akura digibox for £20 + vat at Makro (a total of £141), with the intention of using them in the spare room at home when football is being watched on the main digi TV (!). It occured to me that they could be used in the van, so tried them this weekend. The TV actually runs on a 12v feed from a transformer, so it could be connected up to the 12v lead from our old tubed TV, and although the digibox is 220v only, we plugged it in the inverter fed from the 12v socket. TV signal was relatively good where were sited, and we got a signal straight away from the Status "flying saucer". The TV is extremely portable, and we could have it where we could actually sit & watch without having to look up & sideways at the box in a locker!
It also frees up another top locker because we don't have the tubed TV anymore!

I know, Terry, but we're not normally that bothered about Tv in the 'van!
I've just got the new Makro flyer, and they've got an alba 15" flat screen Tv with DVD player for £139.99 +VAT.
