being a newbie to theis game, after recently buying a vw trooper, I bought a "low" wattage 950w kettle, then after realising that unless i'm hooked up to a 240/230v power supply I can't make tea. Then had a bright idea, buy an inverter, so I did 300w continuous/ peak power 1000w will this power the kettle, or should i take kettle back and buy a 12v one? help Confused

It wont work. A 12v kettle if you can buy one would flatten your battery fast.

Either use gas or a conventional electric kettle on electric hookup or if you are abroad a low wattage (upto 900 watt) electric kettle.
