Is anybody else as annoyed as I am by the amount of Spam sent by Amazon? Initially it was quite interesting information, but now there's masses. In the past, when I have forgotten my password I have done as they suggested, and created a new account - with the result that their damned Spam goes to every account. Even worse, unless you can remember all your logon details, there's no way of getting in to get off the Spam list. Lost your password? Then you need to know which credit card you last used - and how many people have a number of cards, and change from time to time? I believe this breaches the Data Protection Act, because you have a right to opt out of direct marketing.

Now I try to avoid Amazon as much as possible. And trying to get hold of someone if there's a problem is getting on for impossible. Now I only buy from stores that a) have good reviews and b) have a telephone number and a physical address, even if it means paying slightly more.
