We are looking at buying a 1.9 TD Compass Avantgarde but are a bit worried about the engine size, does anyone have one, and are they big enough engines?
Thanks

Hi Nozzy,
And welcome on board MHF.
I have not got one, but have done some work on them, The 1.9 Turbo is big enough for them certainly.

I have one - indeedy I do. My m\home is probably a similar size to yours. The performance I think is quite outstanding for the engine size.

You can bound along the motorway between 60 and 70 but on inclines the speed reduces to 50 ish and of course on mountains we are looking at 2 or 3rd gear stuff but it gets there without worry or embarrasment.

The previous owners, and I get 27 mpg at a steady fifty, shooting right down to 22 ish bombing along as fast as you can reasonably go.

Would I like a bigger engine. yes I would. i would like a 6 ltr turbo jet engine but I cuts my cloth according to whatever you have to cut your cloth too.

I would check, and not because it is a 1.9, the cambelt.

If you want any further info pse do not hesitate to interrupt my sleep.
