Our insurance with SAGA is due for renewal on 21 July. on 19 June we go to Spain and are not due back until early August. Saga do dot seem able to arrange any documentation for us before about 23 June, too late to bring to Spain and we have no way of getting a faxed copy in Spain.
Saga not very helpful with this. One Option seems to be to cancel our Policy with SAGA and take out new Policy with another firm before leaving, Caravan club indicate that this should be OK,
This problem with renewal falling due while out of the country can't be that unusual. Has any one else had to deal with this situation? Would be grateful for any advise.
Our Total SAGA cost last year was £472 with all the extras for IH Tio 2.8.
cheers
Brendan

If they not customer focused and that inflexible now, what might they be like in the event of a claim? I dont know SAGA from Adam but based on your experience I wouldnt want to know them.

Anyhow I'm not old enough to use them for at least another 10 months Very Happy

I can't understand what the problem is.

I recently renewed my road tax and insurance on 2 vehicles from a remote internet cafe in the African bush.

If Saga can't keep up with customer needs then others can - find another insurer.

The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

I had horendous problems with Saga with a caravan, in exactly this situation, a few years ago. They can only accept renewals when their computer says they can. Eventually after a lot of debate they accepted my money early, but it clearly wasn't recorded correctly because a few months later I had a phone call asking why I had not renewed with them! Fortunately there was no claim but I worried for a while about what would have happened had there been a claim.

Needless to say my van insurance is no longer with Saga.
