Hi, well the 6 berth caravan is sold, the 1956 Morris Minor split screen is up for sale (£1,750 ovno if your interested) as is the large frame tent! The proceeds from these will help us buy our first camper - probably a 1970's Type 2 for between £4k-£7k, or should it be a more more recent T25 for £10-£12k, or perhaps one of the brand new VW type 2's made in Brazil/Mexico for £17k++ or are we wrong to be limiting ourselves to a VW? We're planning a 3 week tour of France next summer so we're in no rush. Would appreciate as much advice as we can get.

We spent years of humming and haaring before we made the decision to buy an autospleeper VWT4 SWB.
After 2 seasons and thousands of miles we love it. Its a camper van that thinks its a car, or a car that thinks its a camper.
Our son has a T2 'Bay' He paid too much for it, and has spent a small fortune getting it roadworthy, but he loves it and won't change for a more modern conversion.
So its horses for courses, but whichever you go for, you will be able to park in a normal car park, oh and not to mention those awkward gates into farmers fields. Did I mention fuel Economy? etc etc

We've probably got the same as fellman - a Autosleeper Trident on T4 and can totally agree withhim - a great drive - power steering and a nippy 1.9turbo diesel. AND with the advent of the new T5 you can say that a T4 is a classic
