Hi

Have discovered a lot of mold in a locker and various parts of the woodwork. Have identified the leak and will get that sorted soon.

Do any of you know of a product that will clean off the mold from (a) the lockers/woodwork and (b) the seat cushions??

Would anyone have a tip or name for a product or concoction that would clean up the fabric upholstery? Sorry to bump own topic! Embarassed

A mob called HG chemicals do something to get rid of mould and mildew on fabrics - try a Google search and you should find them. We wanted something to get some spots off our awning, but to be honest it sounded as if this one would not work with PVC.

I wonder if there's a product at your local caravan accessory shop, that gets mould spots off awnings (canvas) they seem to do a fluid for all occasions... Embarassed

- I could do with a fluid for all occasions Badger. I've just had to go and chainsaw the smaller tree down ( neighbours instructions ) all in new leaves and lovely. Feel like a murderer. - Will whatever does awnings do car upholstery too? - I was going to borrow my sis's Sports mazda!!! - but it's been stored, and it's full of mushrooms! ( mildew ) so we've got a big cleaning job to do. - Helena.

We've dealt with this problem in the past by using a steam cleaner. We hired one for the weekend. Not only does it get rid of mould, it also sterilises everything and makes it sweet smelling again.

We hired one again when we bought the second-hand van - we did the whole vehicle inside and out with it. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The whole van looked and smelled like new when we finished.

You may be able to get rid of the mould, but the black spots it leaves behind are pretty near impossible to eradicate. The only known cure to me, with 40 years experience in this field is washing in a strong bleach solution. This however applies to textiles, and can result in damaging side effects, such as colour stripping and weakening of the fibres. The good news is that once the mould is killed with a fungicide it should be harmless although a bit unsightly.
