I recall some discussion about this some time ago, and wondered if anyone had a relatively easy, Noddy-Guide to the process of setting up a T-Mobile PAYG SIM card in a mobile and getting it to attach your laptop to the internet?
I assume a Bluetooth enabled mobile will be needed unless you have a usb-type cable to connect the mobile directly to the laptop.
Are the costs involved for PAYG genuinely £1 a day if you connect this way?
Snelly, if you are connected by now please let us know how its done!!

I have just done this, I don't if i have done it the best or the easiest way but it works and it is £1 per day for the connection.
I used,
Laptop with bluetooth built in
nokia 6230i phone (was originally an O2 phone)
Sim card from T-Mobile shop £5 with £5 free credit (Free sim)
Nokia PC Suit
1st pair the phone to laptop
2nd connect the phone to laptop using nokia pc suite and make sure you can browse the phone using pc suite and the other functions in the suite work.
3rd look for a button in pc suite saying "Web" click and select "T Mobile uk" I was then connected to the internet.
you may not have a nokia but i would think other manufactures have similar software.

Thanks Martyn, thats really helpful. I've got an old Nokia like that and managed to get a free T-mobile PAYG card, so will try it out and see how we get on - seems too good to be true really, but I suppose tmobile will close the loophole at some stage, hopefully not soon!!!
