Hi everybody, I'm new here but I was hoping someone could tell me about importing from France. I would like to buy a s/h pilote and am travelling to france within the next few weeks. I have not bought a motorhome before but have studied the different layouts and all the info about importing from germany but can find nothing about france - is there a reason for this? Thanks for any help. Ness

If you are looking for a Pilote or a Rapido there is obviously a lot more choice in France than Germany.Both makes are made in Brittany and so loads in that area for sale.We have just sold our 4 year old Pilote Galaxy to friends.We are hitching a lift to Rennes via Brittany ferries with other friends next Monday and collecting our brand new Rapido from Bonjour Caravaning on Tuesday.We saw it in the showroom 3 weeks ago and they gave us a price without tax.They have thrown in loads of extras which have now been fitted.We have used Currencies Direct to send the money over having paid a deposit with Nationwide credit card.
This will be our 3rd import -the other 2 from Germany.

The MHF Importing Forum already has a considerable amount of information available to members who are contemplating importing a motorhome.
Most refers to importing from Germany.
I note from your post that you have already imported twice from Germany.
I appreciate that that you have a lot on at the moment. After you have completed your latest import and you can find the time I'm sure other members will be interested to read of your experience buying in France and in particular the differences to buying in Germany.
