The latest TomTom newsletter, in the Security section, suggests you program your device so that it shows your name and home address. If lost it can then be returned to you so the theory runs.

IMHO this is not a good idea. I'm sure 99% of the population are perfectly trustworthy but it would not take much intelligence, if your TomTom was stolen, for the thief to work out that you were not at home and where home was.

The same applies to programming your home destination into your Tomtom. If you need to have it permanently set to home then at least set it to take you to a public building nearby not to the gate.

I've e-mailed Tomtom to suggest they leave this idea out of the newsletter.
