We used to have a PDA and used it alongside our Blaupunkt for Locating Aires, Passions and Auchans. It was an old one that I used TomTom3 on and owed me nothing and was a Brilliant backup.
Sadly, a stand in Co-pilot stuck his size nine on it!
Very kind of you to offer though ~

Ok Just for completeness and for those who just want to see the process.
Doing Eastings and westings is the same as above just remembering that West is negative (the main reason why people end up in the North Sea)
To convert back with your abacus
take 002 degrees 09 minutes 37.4 seconds W
The W means that there will be a '-' sign in front of the 2 degrees.
divide 37.4 by 60 to get 0.6233 and add it to the 09 to give 9.6233
divide 9.6233 by 60 get 0.1603889 and add the 2 and put a minus sign in front to get:
-2.1603889
(Thanks for the thanks I can see mine and you have also recieved 28 thanks in 28 posts so I can see yours)

The icing on the cake with this one is the added google map which shows you the location as well. I found it very useful when updating the campsite database.

As a complete novice I've been following this thread with interest, not that I've understood it of course.
I'm off to Scotland on Monday for a working holiday and somebody has loaned me a Garmin 250 to play with. I've just about cracked putting in post codes and storing co ordinates.
Somebody recommended these two sites for doing conversions, I figured out how to use them but I'm not all that confident.
So for the other dummies out there the sites might be useful.

So it looks like we might be investing in a Sat Nav before we leave on our winter trip in December.
