What Sky+ functionality is possible with a single output LNB and no direct phone connection?

I appreciate that I could not simultaneously view one programme and record another.

But can I still record & play back?

Can a Box Office movie be ordered over the phone?

How are the two LNB input sockets on the back of a Sky+ receiver labelled?

I had been intending to get an Oyster Twin, but am increasingly attracted to the Camos. I don't NEED to view TV (or use broadband internet) on the move, but it is appealing as an overall package, and the price at shows is attractive (these things are all relative Sad )

Hi Da

Yes you would be able to record the channel you were watching (or left set while out.

A box office movie would be ordered on screen as normal only the biiling is done by phone. I can hear the cogs whizzing round from here !!

The billing info is stored on your card, eventually it will fill up and stop working unless you connect up to download the billing info.

The only bit that wont work is the watch one channel record another facility.

George

Labeling of LNB = LNB 1 and 2

Look under mobile sattelite set up

Sometimes ease of use is worth paying for but thats (CAMOS) very very expensive.

Thanks, George.

That makes the CAMOS even more attractive, even though it only has a single LNB output.

Roadpro have user-tested it across Europe, but with insufficient detail for me to square the circle of claimed dish performance and the Astra footprints as tweaked by other user reports.

If I get the slightly larger version, I'll JUST go over the Speedferries height (already booked for 2005). For those who have used Speedferries, how fussy did they seem to be over height (and width come to that; I am right on the limit on both).

Dave
PS If anyone is interested in one-way satellite internet broadband with GPRS talkback, this is doable now. The only reason why Transleisure and Roadpro have not offered it yet is due to "support" reasons - basically, the hassle to them when people can't get it to work. This is a combination of two things. Firstly, there is not a single integrated box solution; secondly, tracing any "fault" across satellite and phone service providers.

Yes, I have set up a satellite dish manually many times, ever since the wife got withdrawal pains from Radio 4 when in southern France Smile

But, regrettably, my fulltiming existence is of the working variety for at least another 12 years, so my motorhoming lifestyle is making the most of quick dashes away and moving about. In this context a manual setup can be tedious.

I fully accept it is not cheap but a convenient luxury. But you cannot deny that the Oyster is very popular and even more expensive!

Each to their own.
