I was not sure where to put this post but I am sure somebody will correct if wrong. I think it may be of future benefit if the company details I am going to include below could be made available for our members should they end up with the 7 months frustration I had to endure.
My main problem and I cannot see it being much different for future claims is that the Insurance Engineers have little knowledge of Motorhomes, as the one I dealt with described them as no different from a commercial van.
Not knowing when I would have any end to my problem I contacted North West Technical Services LTD. Cranford House 101 Manchester Road Wilmslow SK9 2JH Tel. 01625 532363. They are Consulting Engineers and Motor Assessors. Having explained my problem they attended my home address where their Engineer who has himself owned Caravans and Motorhomes examined the workmanship. Within a few days I had a professional report which supported and even went further to say the work was poor. To add to this Mr White a Director of the company maintained regular contact with me and even telephoned my Insurance company to back up my claim. There is no doubt in my mind I would still now be sitting with a leaking poorly repaired vehicle, again I will add both Mr Donovan the visiting Engineer and Mr White offered me every support which resulted in the Insurance Company paying me not only the value of my vehicle but also compensation for their negligence. Cost £100 +Vat and they even charged the Insurance company not me. |

A very interesting and useful post.
Maybe there should be a section on MHF where info like this could be filed away for the benefit of others in the future.

I think this post sits quite well in this forum for the time being at least.
Thanks to you for giving us the benefit of your experience.
I will draw your post to the attention of the 'powers that be' in order that it be given some thought as to how best the information may be used. |
