I've just tried to use the CC POI downloaded from MHF to find a CL near Evesham. Spykal had shown me exactly where it was on a map, and I couldn't understand why my TomTom was trying to send me off in a totally different direction to the directions he had given me. I was totally confused when I was directed a long way out of town, and eventually had to rely on old fashioned methods to find it.

So if you're looking for Longacres (formerly Berwyn) in the latest CC Book, or Berwyn on the CC web site, the postcode is wrong in the book and the co-ordinates are wrong on the web site Confused. The co-ordinates from the web site have obviously been used to create the POI, and even more confusingly there is a campsite called Longacre something at the location I was directed to! My brain hurts Laughing.

If whoever created the POI wants to update it I'll check the co-ordinates of the entrance.

But the good news is that T-Mobile Street Check said I would only get 2G internet at the postcode I entered, but I've actually got 3G Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy.

Hi John

I have had similar problems when in France. Have sometimes blindly followed my Tom Tom into peoples back yards trying to find aires and camp sites Shocked

Unfortunately POI's are only as good as the people who program them.

In this case it seems to be as good as the CC publishing and IT departments. Oh no, this is turning into another CC rant Laughing.

When I knocked on the owners door to say hello, she said they forgot to ask if I was using Sat Nav! Anyway I'm sure you'll be surprised to hear that it's raining Laughing. Lucky I've got all this technology to play with and don't have to go outside!
