Attended an MCC rally this weekend (brilliant weather at long last!!) and several vans had Base Camp Awnings which slid into a channel on the windout awning, similar to a caravan awning. They were made of nylon with 'bendy' poles on the outside. apparently they were very succesful, (and cheap) with their owners singing their praises. I was so interested that I forgot to ask where they got them. I havent been able to locate any on a website.

anyone have any ideas please?

Hi Pollydoodle

There are a few for sale on e-bay at the moment, just type in Basecamp Awning. Alternatively do a Google search.

We have a similay one (cheaper) summit camp or something like that, they are great in our opinion. Erected in no time and extremely good with the wind (which we have an abundence of in our van)......a good buy for £65 quid at Newark.

(Broadlane leisure had then a while ago, worth phoning)

Greetings,

We were impressed with Steve's awning and have looked around for one, but the maximum height is 240cm and our height to the awning rail is just over 250 cm.

Saw one yesterday at

but that too was 240 cms

Ah well, got plenty of time to look around, we thought of a safari room type but were concerned with the weight and time and effort it would take to put up.
